In front of 1,806 fans, the largest crowd of the season at Pohlman Field, the Beloit Snappers (19-21) fell to the Peoria Chiefs (23-19) 1-0 in a low scoring, offensive struggle.

After solid outings from both starting pitchers, the Chiefs Yariel Gonzalez hit a sacrifice fly to center field that plated Jose Martinez in the top of the ninth to give Peoria a 1-0 lead..
Offense was sparse all game, with both teams combining for just six hits. The Snappers only got three men on base all day and were 0-for-1 with runners in scoring position. The Snappers also lost their extra-base team hitting streak, ending at 26 games.
Snappers starter Ivan Andueza pitched one of his best games of the season, going 6.2 innings of two hit ball, picking up five strikeouts and not surrendering a run. Jean Ruiz would come on to pitch the rest of the game, eventually allowing the game's lone run.
Snappers second baseman Trace Loehr punched a single to right in the second inning. With the base knock, he has now hit safely in five straight games and seven of his last nine.
Hunter Hargrove, who lost his season long15-game hitting streak Monday night, roped a single to right in the seventh. One of the Snappers hottest hitters this season, Hargrove has now hit in 16 of his last 17 games and 26 of his 31 games played this season with the Snappers.
On the mound for the Snappers Wednesday in game three will be Wyatt Marks (3-3, 4.42). He will be opposed by right-hander Zach Prendergast (4-2, 2.70). First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday's game is a Kids Eat Free promotion. Kids 12 and under will receive a hot dog and soda voucher to be redeemed at the main concession stand. It is also a craft beer Wednesday, as all 12-oz domestic drafts are just two dollars.
