The Beloit Snappers (36-40) defeated the Cedar Rapids Kernels (38-38) 4-3 in 11 innings in Wednesday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

After Trace Loehr advanced from second to third on a balk, Jordan Devencenzi hit a sac fly to score Loehr and take a 4-3 lead and never looked back.
Jean Ruiz pitched the final two frames in extras, pitching two scoreless innings and earning his first win of the season.
Trailing 2-1 and with Mickey McDonald on with a lead-off single, Hunter Hargrove launched his sixth homer of the season to take a 3-2 lead. The Snappers would hold that lead until the seventh inning.
Newest Snappers pitcher Wandisson Charles came on in relief of starter Ivan Andueza in the seventh with two outs. In his 21 pitches in the inning, he walked four consecutive batters to tie the game 3-3.
Kernel Jean Carlos Arias walked on a full count to force in Jacob Pearson and the third Kernel run. Arias checked his swing and did not go around, causing Snappers manager Webster Garrison to argue the call and get ejected.
The Snappers scored their first run of the series in the top of the second. Ryan Gridley singled home Jordan Devencenzi with the bases loaded to cut the early Kernels lead to 2-1.
The Snappers run in the second snapped a 21 consecutive scoreless inning streak that dated back to game four of the Quad Cities series. Beloit has hit at least one extra-base hit in all seven games of the second half. They also avoided a three-game sweep with Wednesday's win.
Logan Farrar walked in his first at bat, which extended his on base streak to 21 consecutive games. His streak was the fourth highest current on base streak coming into the day.
The Snappers will head home for the first time in the second half for a four-game series against the Peoria Chiefs and then two games against the Quad Cities River Bandits. The Snappers starter for Thursday will be announced later.
Thursday is a Two Dollar Thursday promotion. Hot dogs, brats, pizza, 12 oz. domestic draft beer and fountain soft drinks can be purchased for just $2. Presented by your friends at Advia Credit Union.
