Logan Farrar smashed his team-leading 11th homer of the year, but the Beloit Snappers (53-50) fell 5-3 to the Burlington Bees (40-62) Sunday afternoon at Community Field in Burlington, IA.

Trailing 1-0 in the top of the 6th, Hunter Hargrove led off the frame with a base hit to left to set the stage for Farrar. Farrar stepped to the plate and sent a two-run shot to right-center field to give the Snappers a 2-1 advantage. For Farrar, it was his team-leading 11th homer of the year.

The Bees answered with a homer from Kevin Williams Jr. to tie it at 2, before Keinner Pina singled home Spencer Griffin to give Burlington a 3-2 lead after six.

Orlando Martinez added to the Bees lead with a run-scoring double to left, scoring Tori Hunter Jr. to lift their lead to 4-2 over the Snappers heading to the 8th.

Jack Meggs would inch the Snappers closer in the top of the 8th, as the outfielder doubled home Hunter Hargrove to bring Beloit within a run.

In the bottom half of the frame, the Bees would again answer on a passed ball that got away from Snappers catcher Skyler Weber to allow Griffin to score to bring the score to 5-3 Bees.

The Snappers went quietly in the ninth, as they went in order with Nick Allen striking out swinging to end the game.

Snappers starter Jean Ruiz took the loss after surrendering three runs on five hits in 5.2 innings for the Snappers. For Ruiz, it was his eighth loss of the year.

The Snappers will look to rebound Monday with game three of the four-game set scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Community Field. The Snappers will send left-hander Ivan Andueza, as the Bees will counter with Herman (1-5, 5.48)
