Ponies to Host Beloved Thunder Bat Boy

Tommy Smith to join Rumble Ponies on Saturday

BINGHAMTON, NY - On Saturday night, beloved Trenton Thunder bat boy Tommy Smith will be providing his services at NYSEG Stadium for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Smith, who made national headlines for the friendship he has developed with Rumble Ponies outfielder Tim Tebow, will make the trip to the Southern Tier with his family to serve as Binghamton's bat boy for their 6:05 PM game against the Thunder.

Smith, a 27-year-old with special needs, is in his third season as bat boy for the Thunder. At Tebow's invitation, Smith switched dugouts and helped the Rumble Ponies for one game when the team visited Trenton in June. Smith was the also the bat boy for the Eastern Division for the All-Star Game hosted by the Trenton Thunder on July 11.
