PENSACOLA, Fla., - The Pensacola Blue Wahoos are proud to announce Executive Chef Travis Wilson has been selected as one of eleven Spectra All-Star chefs. Chef Travis will be going to Chicago to participate in the Culinary Innovation Summit from August 8-11.
Chef Travis is part of a team that will be working to create new food experiences, by implementing new and innovative ways of preparing delicious dishes. The four-day event will include a Knowledge Exchange and a Culinary Innovation Challenge.
"It's a really humbling moment to be able to represent the Blue Wahoos and Pensacola in this way," said Chef Travis Wilson. "I'm excited to get up there and see what new and flavorful dishes we can come up with."
The Knowledge Exchange will allow the all-star chefs the chance to see and test new products and build their culinary relationships. This event aids the chefs in coming up with new creations, that could someday be seen in the ballpark.
During the Culinary Innovation Challenge, the chefs will be put to the test in a three-team creation challenge. They will have one hour to come up with two new and exciting recipes, before heading to the kitchen. While in the kitchen, they will have 90 minutes to create the perfect dish.
A panel of judges will make the final decision on which recipe is the winner. However, each dish that is created could become part of a future menu at a Spectra property.
