BRADENTON, FL - After the first game of a four game series between the Bradenton Marauders and the Fort Myers Miracle was played at Hammond Stadium on Monday night, Tuesday saw the series shift to Bradenton with similar results to the first game. Bradenton dropped an 8-2 decision in that contest and fell by an 8-1 score Tuesday thanks in part to a five-run third inning for the Miracle as the visitors picked up their Florida State League best 24th win of the season.

The Marauders fell to 21-16 with the loss after RHP Cody Bolton was only able to work through 2.2 innings in his shortest start of the season while allowing a season-high five runs on seven hits, also a season-high, with all the Fort Myers runs against the starter coming in a nine batter third inning that featured four extra base hits out of the total six knocks in the frame. LHP Ike Schlabach worked through 3.1 innings and allowed a pair of runs, and RHP Samuel Reyes allowed his first run with the Marauders in his second outing with the club over two full innings, although it was an unearned run thanks to an error. The lone scoreless outing on the hill for Bradenton on Tuesday came from RHP Gavin Wallace who breezed through a perfect top of the ninth in just three batters including a strikeout.

Bradenton's lone offensive strike came in the home half of the fifth after C Deon Stafford walked to begin the inning. He was driven around by OF Travis Swaggerty on his third RBI over the last two games on a base knock up the middle with one out. It was the second straight night that Swaggerty drove in every Marauders run.

Bradenton and Fort Myers will do battle on Wednesday night with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 with RHP Aaron Shortridge on the hill.
