BRADENTON, Fla. - In the final game of the 8-game season series between the Bradenton Marauders and the Lakeland Flying Tigers, RHP Luis Escobar was masterful as ever in his seventh victory of the year on Thirsty Thursday at LECOM Park. Mitchell Tolman, who reached base four times in his own right in the Marauders victory, also scored three of the eight Bradenton runs with Jason Delay registering a pair of runs scored as well.

Luis Escobar came in to his sixteenth start of the year leading the Marauders pitchers in strikeouts and only increased his lead in the victory with six of them in his seventh innings or work on Thursday. After posting six innings in each of his two prior starts, Escobar tossed seven innings for just the second time on the season and only walked one batter in his penultimate frame on the hill. RHP Angel German lowered his ERA to 7.07 after pitching the final two innings and allowed but one run on a single hits, two walks and a late strikeout for the second out of the ninth inning.

Bradenton's offense started on a Casey Hughston RBI single in the second inning and was added on to with a two-run output in the fourth that included another Hughston run scoring hit. The inning with the most runs scored was the home half of the seventh when three runs were scored on RBI knocks from Jason Delay and Casey Hughston on a double in his final at bat of the night for his seventh two-bagger of the season. The final output was a pair of runs in the eighth inning to cap off a strong offensive evening for the home side after taking their largest defeat of the season the night before on Wednesday.

The Marauders travel to Daytona for the final time on Friday for a three game weekend set on the road against the Tortugas. First pitch for the first game is set for 7:05 pm when RHP James Marvel is scheduled to take the hill for Bradenton.
