Rachelle Madrigal Named Marauders General Manager

Justin Kristich promoted to Assistant General Manager; A.J. Grant transitioning to Director of Operations

Bradenton, Fla. - The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced that Rachelle Madrigal has been promoted to Director, Sales and General Manager of Bradenton Marauders. The appointment, which is effective immediately, was announced by Dennis DaPra, Executive Vice President and General Manager of PNC Park and Facility Management.

Madrigal has worked for the Pirates since 2007, most recently holding the title of Manager, Sales and Marketing. In addition to taking point on the day-to-day operations of the Bradenton Marauders, she will continue to oversee all sales and marketing initiatives for both Pirates Spring Training and the Marauders.

"Rachelle has been a key leader for our organization in Florida and has helped expand our operations in Bradenton exponentially," DaPra said. "Our success with Spring Training and Florida State League baseball at McKechnie Field will continue to grow under Rachelle's leadership."

Madrigal was recognized as the Female Executive of the Year in the Florida State League in 2014. She is currently the only woman to hold the general manager title in the league. She is a 2007 graduate of UMass Amherst.

"I'm excited by the opportunity and the challenge of this new position," Madrigal said. "This Spring Training was our most successful, and we've enjoyed a strong start to the Marauders season at historic McKechnie Field. Justin Kristich, who has served as the Coordinator of Ticket Operations at McKechnie Field since the inaugural Marauders season in 2010, has been promoted to Manager, Sales and Assistant General Manager of Bradenton Marauders. In addition to continuing to operate the McKechnie Field ticket office, Kristich will expand his involvement in sales, marketing and gameday operations. He is a 2008 graduate of the University of Florida.

A.J. Grant, who took over the general manager position after the 2013 season, will transition to a new role as Director, Operations. Grant will be in charge of the facility operations at both McKechnie Field and Pirate City. His duties include maintaining smooth operations by overseeing staffing, inventory, event setup and breakdown, and serving as a point of contact for outside vendors that operate at both venues. During his tenure as Manager of McKechnie Field Operations and General Manager of Bradenton Marauders, Grant oversaw the staging of the 2014 Florida State League All-Star Game and the construction of the new McKechnie Field home clubhouse. Grant is a 2002 graduate of the University of West Virginia.

The Bradenton Marauders are in their sixth season of Florida State League baseball at McKechnie Field. The Pirates have held Spring Training in Bradenton every year since 1969.

The McKechnie Field ticket office is open on non-gamedays Tuesday-Friday from 11:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. On Monday-Friday gamedays the ticket office is open from 11:00 a.m. until the conclusion of the game. The ticket office opens two hours before Saturday, Sunday and morning games.
