BRADENTON, Fla. - In the middle game of a three game mid-week series from LECOM Park, the Bradenton Marauders fell to the Jupiter Hammerheads for the second consecutive evening. After RHP Cody Poteet cruised through six hitless innings with only a single walk allowed, Jared Oliva broke up the no-hitter with his team leading 21st double of the year to lead off the seventh inning.

Starting on the mound for the home team was RHP Evan Piechota in just his second starting nod of the year, and his first since his debut on 6/8 at Tampa. Piechota spread eight opponent hits through his six full innings of work, allowing three runs total but only two earned as the Livonia, Michigan native struck out six batters to a single walk and was a tough luck loser on Tuesday night. LHP Blake Weiman allowed a single unearned run over his two innings of work, and RHP Angel German breezed through three batters on three punchouts in his lone frame of action in the visitor's half of the ninth inning in a perfect fashion.

Mitchell Tolman led off the eighth with a walk and was eventually brought around along with Casey Hughston who singled on a Lucas Tancas 2-RBI double to bring the score within a pair of runs in the late stages of the game. In the ninth, Tolman once again factored into the scoring as he knocked a sacrifice fly to right to score Adrian Valerio from third to bring the game within a run. The bottom of the ninth ended with the tying run stranded on third base in the form of pinch runner Garrett Brown on a groundout, and the loss put the Marauders second half record to 11-15.

The Marauders finish up their three game series tomorrow morning at 10:30 against Jupiter, with RHP James Marvel throwing against RHP Sam Puckett for the Hammerheads.
