BRADENTON, Fla. - In the final contest of a four game series between the Bradenton Marauders and the Daytona Tortugas on Thursday night at LECOM Park, Luis Escobar's longest outing of the 2018 season ended in a win for the home side. The #7 prospect in the Pirates organization as rated by Baseball America lasted through the seventh inning for the first time on the year as he struck our six batters and allowed just three hits to earn his second win.

The Marauders scored in the first inning for the third straight game against Daytona, striking for a trio of runs in the inaugural frame. Adrian Valerio got on with a single in the first and scored on an error committed by Tortugas second baseman Shane Mardirosian, while the final two runs of the inning were brought around on a two RBI double by Bligh Madris to cap off the scoring in the inning.

Bradenton added on two tack on runs in the fourth and fifth innings in the victory. Alfredo Reyes singled and stole second with an out and was driven in on Hunter Owen's sixth double of the season, and Adrian Valerio crossed home for the second time on the evening in the fifth after singling and stealing second himself. Albert Baur drove him in on an RBI single to make the score 5-0 after six innings. Daytona scored their lone run in the loss in the top of the seventh, when Bruce Yari knocked a solo home run with two outs for his second of the year. For good measure, the Marauders dropped another run on the board in their last time up in the bottom of the eighth on Bligh Madris' third run batted in on the night on a sacrifice fly to right field to bring the final score to 6-1 Bradenton.

The Marauders travel to Palm Beach on Friday for a three game weekend set with the Cardinals beginning on Friday, with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 pm.
