TAMPA, FL - In the second game of a three game series between the Bradenton Marauders and the Tampa Tarpons at George M. Steinbrenner Field, the road side used a six-run, 12 batter top of the final inning to complete their biggest and latest comeback of the 2019 season

TAMPA, FL - In the second game of a three game series between the Bradenton Marauders and the Tampa Tarpons at George M. Steinbrenner Field, the road side used a six-run, 12 batter top of the final inning to complete their biggest and latest comeback of the 2019 season on Tuesday evening.
After plating a single run in the first inning, the Marauders entered the fifth inning trailing the Tarpons by a 5-1 tally after a pair of home runs from Tampa DH Dermis Garcia. 3B Dylan Busby knocked his second home run in as many nights to bring the game within a run on a three-run poke to left field to vault Busby to the top of the Florida State League home run board with his fourth of the season. Both sides traded a single run in the top of the sixth and the bottom of the seventh before Bradenton entered their last ups trailing by a 6-5 score. That tally quickly changed after a leadoff single set up OF Chris Sharpe for his first home run of the year, a two-run, go-ahead bomb that made the score 7-6. That would be far from the end of the offense in the final frame, as the Marauders capped off their offensive explosion after six run on as many hits with twelve batters stepping to the plate including Sharpe who doubled his RBI total in the inning itself after he was walked with the bases loaded in his second AB of the inning, moving his runs batted in total from 3 to 6.

LHP Oddy Nunez was shaky in his third start of the season, walking a career high six batters over 5.2 innings while allowing five out of the six home tallies with a pair of strikeouts included. RHP Hunter Stratton earned his third win in three outings out of the pen, firing 2.1 innings and striking out two while allowing a single run on three hits. RHP Ryan Valdes came in following the offensive explosion in the ninth and shut down the demoralized Tarpons in order on just 15 pitches in the bottom of the final inning to move the Marauders to 9-4 as they go for the series sweep Wednesday in Tampa.
