PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - In the second game of a three game series on the road, the Bradenton Marauders dropped their second straight decision at the hands of the Florida State League South Division leading Charlotte Stone Crabs on Tuesday night at Charlotte Sports Park.

After a brief 23 minute rain delay before the first pitch was thrown, LHP Brendan McKay made his first career outing against the Marauders after playing as the designated hitter in Charlotte's Monday win. The two-way player was excellent on the hill in his sixth total outing with the club, working through five innings even on 70 pitches and struck out five batters while walking a hitter and allowing the only three hits of the game for the visitors. RHP Phoenix Sanders came out of the bullpen in his team debut to breeze through three no-hit innings that included five strikeouts and the only runner that reached was when Jared Oliva was hit by a pitch on a check swing. RHP Trevor Charpie quickly retired the side in his lone inning of work in the top of the ninth inning including his lone strikeout to end the ball game.

RHP Pedro Vasquez made his 2018 Marauders debut after being selected as both a mid-season and post season All-Star selection in 2017 with the club. Vasquez lasted only 3.1 innings, ending his night on his fourth strikeout in an outing that included two runs on four hits in the righty's first appearance since July 15th with Double-A Altoona.

The Marauders finish their final trip of the year to Port Charlotte Wednesday evening for the series finale, scheduled to begin at 6:36 with RHP Mike Wallace toeing the slab for Bradenton and opposed by RHP Riley O'Brien for the home side.
