Lawrie & Morrow among guests set for Hot Stove

Toronto Blue Jays to be well represented at 3rd Annual Hot Stove Luncheon presented by Scotiabank

(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - The Vancouver Canadians upcoming 3rd Annual Hot Stove Luncheon presented by Scotiabank is set for Friday, January 25th, 2013 and will have a number of Toronto Blue Jays players and executives in attendance to show their support.

Headlining this year's event will be President & CEO of the Toronto Blue Jays Paul Beeston, General Manager Alex Anthopoulos, Major League pitcher Brandon Morrow and Langley's Brett Lawrie. As well, Director of Minor League Operations Charlie Wilson will join the Blue Jays contingent as they support the many community initiatives that have been spearheaded by the Vancouver Canadians Baseball Foundation.

President Paul Beeston and General Manager Alex Anthopoulos are responsible for what many consider to be the biggest off-season overhaul of a Blue Jays roster in franchise history. After struggling in 2012, both Anthopoulos and Beeston made a number of moves that garnered international attention as they remain committed to returning Canada's Team back to the top of Major League Baseball.

With the many changes and new faces on the Toronto roster, it will remain the hope of fans from coast-to-coast that returning players like infielder Brett Lawrie and pitcher Brandon Morrow can help lead the Blue Jays back into the post-season for the first time since 1993.

Lawrie, from Langley, B.C., is the sparkplug that captivated Canadian baseball fans with his aggressive, smash-mouth style of play while pitcher Brandon Morrow continues to show signs that he may remain the 'ace in the deck' even with the recent acquisition of 2012 National League Cy Young Award Winner R.A. Dickey.

Optimism is in the air across Canada when it comes to the Blue Jays, and on Friday, January 25th at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, fans of baseball here in Vancouver will get their chance to meet and greet the core of this year's Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club by joining the Vancouver Canadians at the 3rd Annual Hot Stove Luncheon presented by Scotiabank.

This year's event is at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, located at 900 West Georgia Street in Downtown Vancouver. Our event will see the doors open at 11:30am with our presentation set for 12:00pm through 2:00pm.
