(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - Canadians DH Riley Adams hit a double down the left field line in the bottom of the 12th inning that scored SS Logan Warmoth (war-myth) from first base giving Vancouver a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over Spokane in 12 innings on Friday afternoon. The win moves Vancouver 3 ½ games up on Tri-City in the North Division with just nine games remaining in the first half.
Vancouver (18-11) pounded out 15 hits to collect a second straight victory over the Indians (11-18) as Toronto Blue Jays 1st Round pick SS Logan Warmoth went 4-for-6 with a run scored and an RBI in just his second game with the Canadians. LF Brandon Polizzi (3-for-5), CF Reggie Pruitt (2-for-6), 2B Kevin Vicuña (2-for-6) and DH Riley Adams (2-for-6) had multi-hit games for the Canadians improving them to 7-1 (.875) against Spokane this season.
The Canadians used a half-dozen pitchers on Friday afternoon to grab the victory with LHP Zach Logue (low-guh) getting the start going two innings allowing a run while striking out five. RHP Orlando Pascual was two outs away from securing the Vancouver victory in the top of the 9th inning, but C Melvin Novoa hit a solo home run onto the "hey y'all!" Porch to even the game at 2-2.
Spokane would take the lead 3-2 in the top of the 12th inning, but the Canadians would answer with a pair of runs as CF Reggie Pruitt (single) and SS Logan Warmoth (single) came in to count to give Vancouver the series victory and inch them closer toward the North Division pennant.
The Canadians will remain at home (July 15-19) as they host the Hillsboro Hops, Minor League Affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, starting on Saturday, July 15th at 7:05pm. The game is SOLD OUT but can be heard live on TSN1040 AM Sports Radio with Brook Ward and seen on Shaw TV with Rob Fai, Chris Pritchett and Shantelle Chand.
