Gerald Wallace Scheduled to take Batting Practice with Knights and Throw 1st Pitch

 

FORT MILL, S.C.  - The Charlotte Knights and Charlotte Bobcats have teamed up for Charlotte Bobcats Night on Friday, August 27th at Knights Stadium.  The event will feature Charlotte Bobcats All-Star forward Gerald Wallace, Bobcats mascot Rufus and the LadyCats.

Wallace is scheduled to take batting practice at 6 PM and throw out the first pitch prior to the Knights 7:15 PM game against the Norfolk Tides.  Fans will also have a chance to register to win an autographed Wallace jersey.

Wallace has been with the Bobcats since the team started play in 2004.  Wallace was named to the 2010 Eastern Conference All-Star team making him the first player in team history to be named an All-Star.  He was also named to the All NBA Defensive First Team in 2010.

“We are extremely pleased to team up with the Charlotte Bobcats,” Knights Vice President and General Manager Dan Rajkowski said.  “This is a great opportunity for the Knights to partner up with our hometown NBA team and our fans are looking forward to a visit from All-Star Gerald Wallace.”

The LadyCats, Rufus and Knights mascot Homer the Dragon will be entertaining fans and will be available for pictures.
