Knights to Wear Special Jerseys on Several Occasions

(Fort Mill, SC) -- On a select few nights this season, fans of the Knights may not recognize the team. That's because they will be wearing unique uniforms in support of some very special causes. Throughout the season, the Knights will sport camouflage jerseys in support of the USO of North Carolina, pink jerseys for Carolinas' Health Care Foundation, and also jerseys for Autism Awareness Night and for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

As part of their military tribute, Knights players will wear camouflage jerseys at each of the five Military Appreciation games beginning with the season opener on Thursday, April 5, followed by May 27, May 28 (Memorial Day), Sept. 2 and Sept. 3 (Labor Day). The team will also wear the special jerseys on the Fourth of July in celebration of Independence Day.

Fans will have the chance to own the camouflage game-worn jerseys thanks to an online auction beginning on Sunday, April 1 at 9:00 a.m. at knights.milbstore.com. Bidding will continue throughout the season and all proceeds will benefit the USO of NC.

For the 7th Annual Pink Knights at the ballpark on Saturday, May 12, players will wear special jerseys to be auctioned off during the game. Special pink merchandise and novelties will be on-sale to the general public throughout the game. Proceeds will benefit Carolinas' Health Care Foundation. Pink Knights is presented by Charlotte Radiology.

Saturday, July 14 is Autism Awareness Night and players will wear special jerseys to be auctioned off during the game. Proceeds from this auction, as well as a portion of ticket sales will benefit the Autism Society of North Carolina.

On Saturday, August 11, the Charlotte Knights will "Swing for the Cure" as all players will wear special jerseys to be auctioned off during the game. Proceeds from auction and portion of tickets sales will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
