(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- RHP Spencer Adams struck-out six batters over 6.1 innings pitched, but the Charlotte Knights dropped the opening game of their three-game series to the Toledo Mud Hens by a score of 4-0 on Friday night in front of a sell-out crowd of 10,612 fans. It was Charlotte's 12th sell-out crowd of the season.

Making just his second career Triple-A start and his first-ever start at BB&T Ballpark, Adams (0-1, 3.38) allowed three runs on five hits over 6.1 innings. The 22-year-old right-hander walked three batters and threw 99 pitches (65 for strikes). He was saddled with the loss despite a solid outing in his Uptown Charlotte debut. RHP Ian Hamilton made his Triple-A debut and was also sharp. He fanned three batters over 1.1 innings pitched out of the bullpen.

Offensively, the Knights managed a total of three hits on the evening. Second baseman Eddy Alvarez recorded his team-high 18th double of the season.

Former Charlotte Knights hurler Jacob Turner earned the win for the Toledo Mud Hens. Turner (1-0, 0.68) allowed just three hits over six shutout innings.
