CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Chattanooga Lookouts fought back, but fell a run short in their, 6-5, loss to Biloxi on Friday night at AT&T Field.

The Lookouts put together an eighth inning that saw four runs come across to cut the lead to one. Michael Siani got it started with a one-out single and Matt McLain drew a walk. Then after a pair of Shucker errors plating one, Alex McGarry hit a double to left-center to score two and trim the lead to one.

In the ninth Pedro Garcia came in and gave up a leadoff double but retired the next three batters with a popout and two strikeouts to give Chattanooga (31-30) a chance.

In the bottom of the inning, the first two batters were put out but Siani ripped a ball to right-center, just feet from a home run for the two-out triple. Joey Wiermier then made a spectacular catch in foul grounds to secure the win.

McGarry paced the Lookout offense with a 2-for-3 day with a double and a pair of RBIs. Eduardo Salazar (4-6) got the start on the mound and was tagged with the loss pitching four innings allowing three runs on five hits, four walks, and struck out three batters. Garcia extended his streak of not allowing a run to 13 innings with a scoreless ninth.

Nick Bennett (3-5) got the start and win for Biloxi (29-30). Bennett went five innings giving up five hits, a run, two walks, and sat down six hitters. Zach Vennaro picked up his sixth save of the season going 1.2 innings allowing just two hits with two strikeouts.

These two teams will meet again on Saturday at 7:15 p.m. from AT&T Field.
