CORPUS CHRISTI - Cole Hertzler, Nic Swanson, Jack Dashwood, and Ramsey David teamed to hold the Drillers to four hits Wednesday night, leading Corpus Christi to a 5-2 triumph at Whataburger Field.

The Hooks have won five of their last six games and stand 2-0 in the series vs. Tulsa.

Hertzler struck out at Double-A best seven batters against one hit and one unearned run over four innings. Limited to 42 pitches, the 23-year-old from Boyertown, PA fired 30 strikes.

Ranking in the top 5 on the Astros farm with 87 strikeouts in 72 innings, Hertzler boasts a 2.48 ERA in eight Double-A outings.

The Hooks, playing as the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits, erased a 1-0 deficit with two runs in the fifth. Alejandro Nuñez's lead-off double sparked the rally and provided the home team with its first hit.

Yamal Encarnacion led the Hooks offensively, going 2-for-5 with a run scored. Encarnacion is hitting .364 with a .404 on-base average over a season-long, 10-game hit streak.

Tyler Whitaker legged out a double for the first of four hits in a three-run sixth for CC. Chase Call knocked Whitaker in with a base hit up the middle. Singles by Max Holy and Encarnacion, along with an error, wild pitch, and balk completed the scoring.

Swanson picked up the win with 2 1/3 innings out of the bullpen. The lefty Dashwood retired five of six, striking out two. David, hitting 100 MPH on the radar gun, earned his second save by working around an infield single in a scoreless ninth.
