Jackie Robinson Clear Bag Policy

Clear Bag Policy

The Daytona Tortugas have adopted a clear bag policy for all games and events held at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. The clear bag policy was created and implemented to ensure the safety of the fans. Find out more information about our clear bag policy below.

Each ticketed fan is allowed to bring in one (1) clear bag no larger than 12” x 6” x 12” or a small purse/clutch no larger than 6.5” x 4.5” with or without a strap. All bags will be subject to a search. See graphic above for details.

_*Please note that all types of bags and clutch purses will be screened prior to entry into the stadium. Diaper bags are permitted in, regardless of size, but will be subject to screening as well. All bags and purses not meeting the requirements set forth by the clear bag policy will not be permitted to enter the ballpark this year. There is no storage area for any items at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. _

Fans carrying required medical supplies or devices into the stadium are not subject to the clear bag policy but will be required to go through the bag check lines setup.

The new policy allows for a safer environment, helps expedite the entry process into Jackie Robinson Ballpark, and enhances the game day experience. The clear bag rules fall in line with most entertainment venues around the country including Minor League Baseball ballparks.

Guests are encouraged to visit HERE for a complete list of Jackie Robinson Ballpark guidelines.

A list of prohibited items include the following: baskets, lawn chairs, sticks, offensive, political or other non-event related banners or signs, inappropriate clothing, laser pointers, pressurized air horns, vuvuzelas, whistles, cans, glass bottles, projectiles that can cause injury or disruption of the game or event, confetti, beach balls or other inflatable objects, fireworks, firearms or other weapons, squirt guns, frisbees, bicycles, in-line skates, scooters, skateboards, hoverboards (balance boards), unauthorized drones, knives, guns, drugs, and outside food and drink.

As stated, firearms are not permitted at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Firearms, weapons, knives, tasers and other dangerous or hazardous devices or substances (collectively "weapons") are prohibited at Jackie Robinson Ballpark, unless carried by an on-duty police officer or otherwise expressly approved by The Tortugas. Anyone bringing such a weapon to the premises must return it to their vehicle immediately.

How does the new policy improve public safety?

The clear bag can be easily searched, reduces faulty bag searches, and reduces the risk and transmission of infectious diseases such as the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). It also supports the Department of Homeland Security’s “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign.

Why did Jackie Robinson adopt this policy?

Fan experience and the safety of our guests are a priority. This policy enables staff and security to enhance public safety and make Jackie Robinson Ballpark access more efficient and secure by limiting the size and style of bags.

How many bags can each person bring into Jackie Robinson Ballpark?

Each ticketed attendee may bring in one (1) large clear bag – either a one-gallon Ziploc style bag or a clear bag that does not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”. A small clutch purse (the size of the palm of your Hand) that does not exceed 6.5” x 4.5”. The small clutch allows privacy for small personal items and can be easily searched.

What if I have certain items that I need to bring in Jackie Robinson Ballpark due to medical reasons?

Guests needing to carry a bag for required medical supplies or devices are permitted. However, all bags are subject to inspection by Jackie Robinson Ballpark security. Following inspection, the bag/item will be tagged by security.

Can I bring in food or drink into Jackie Robinson Ballpark?

No outside food or beverage is permitted into Jackie Robinson Ballpark.

Are all purses permitted?

No. Small clutch purses, with or without a handle/strap, no larger than 6.5” x 4.5” are permitted. Purses larger than this are not permitted.

What happens if I arrive at the gate with a bag that is not permitted?
