2011-12 Bull Stephen Vogt Hired as Guardians Manager

The Cleveland Guardians on Monday announced they have hired 2011-12 Durham Bulls catcher Stephen Vogt to be their next manager. Vogt is now one of five former Bulls players to be a current manager in the Big Leagues, joining Kevin Cash, Brian Snitker, Rocco Baldelli and Matt Quatraro. GET YOUR

The Cleveland Guardians on Monday announced they have hired 2011-12 Durham Bulls catcher Stephen Vogt to be their next manager. Vogt is now one of five former Bulls players to be a current manager in the Big Leagues, joining Kevin Cash, Brian Snitker, Rocco Baldelli and Matt Quatraro.

In his two seasons with Durham, Vogt combined for a .277 average (131-473) in 125 contests, adding 63 runs, 32 doubles, five triples, 13 homers and 63 RBI. He would go on to make his Major League debut with the Tampa Bay Rays on April 6, 2012 versus the New York Yankees.

Over his 10-year Big League career, Vogt combined for a .239 average (560-2348), adding 259 runs, 121 doubles, 13 triples, 82 homers and 313 RBI across 794 contests for the Rays, Oakland Athletics, Milwaukee Brewers, San Francisco Giants, Arizona Diamondbacks and Atlanta Braves. He was also named an American League All-Star during the 2015-16 campaigns.
