Louisville, KY --- Mike Brosseau and Christian Arroyo hit consecutive home runs in the fourth inning minutes before game-ending rain arrived, leading the Durham Bulls to a 4-2 victory over the Louisville Bats in five innings on Wednesday night.
The Bats (8-12) took a 2-0 lead with a run in each of the first two innings against Bulls starter Aaron Slegers (W, 1-0). But Durham (8-10) climbed back in the game on a run-scoring, two-out triple by Kean Wong in the third against José López (L, 1-2).
In the fourth, Brosseau connected for a home run to tie the game, with Arroyo bashing a 438' monster blast to left field to hand Durham a 3-2 lead.
In the fifth, with rain moving in, Wong singled home Emilio Bonifácio from second base with an insurance run.
Slegers quickly pitched through the bottom of the fifth to make the game official. Slegers worked five innings permitting five hits, two runs (one earned), fanning two to earn the victory.
As the Bulls left the field, the heaviest rain of the game arrived, the field was covered and after a 45-minute rain delay, the game was called.
The Bulls have now won four of their last five and aim for a three-game sweep of the Bats on Thursday night with Ryan Merritt (1-1, 7.27) opposing Louisville's Odrisamer Despaigne (1-0, 3.60).
