The El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Round Rock Express 14-8 Saturday night at Southwest University Park to win their sixth game in their last seven tries. The Chihuahuas have won four of the first five games against the Express, clinching their second series win of the season.
All nine Chihuahuas players had at least one hit for the second time this season. Chihuahuas leadoff hitter Clay Dungan went 3-for-4 with a walk and an RBI triple, his second RBI triple in as many games. Yonathan Perlaza and Forrest Wall both homered for the Chihuahuas. El Paso sent 10 batters to the plate in their seven-run third inning.
El Paso and Round Rock combined for 30 hits Saturday, which is the most in a Chihuahuas game this season. The 14 runs were El Paso’s season high. The Chihuahuas now have a .500 record for the first time since they were 2-2.
