The El Paso Chihuahuas scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning Saturday night to break a late tie and beat the Oklahoma City Comets 12-8 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Eight of the Chihuahuas’ runs came after the sixth inning. It was El Paso’s first road win of the season and it ended a four-game losing streak.

Chihuahuas first baseman Trenton Brooks went 2-for-4 with four RBIs, including a two-run single in the eighth that put El Paso ahead at the time. El Paso designated hitter Oscar Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with a triple and an RBI and he now has eight hits in his last four games. Chihuahuas shortstop Clay Dungan went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and has four RBIs in his last two games.

Tirso Ornelas played all three outfield positions in the game for El Paso. Kevin Kopps pitched two scoreless relief innings for the Chihuahuas and hasn’t allowed any runs in four appearances this season. Reiss Knehr struck out the side in the bottom of the ninth inning.
