Oscar González hit a bases loaded game-ending single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning Friday night to give the El Paso Chihuahuas a 4-3 win over the Round Rock Express at Southwest University Park. The Chihuahuas have won three of the first four games against Round Rock and have won five of their last six games overall.
The Chihuahuas trailed 3-0 entering the bottom of the seventh and scored once on Clay Dungan’s RBI triple, then twice more on Luis Campusano’s game-tying two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth.
Kyle Hart allowed two runs in five innings in his second start with El Paso this season. Friday was El Paso’s second walk-off win of the season and the first since Trenton Brooks’ game-ending home run against Las Vegas on April 10. Before Friday, Round Rock had won nine consecutive games that they led after seven innings.
