The Sacramento River Cats beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 5-3 Friday night at Sutter Health Park to end El Paso’s three-game winning streak. It was the fourth game of the six-game series.

San Diego Padres pitcher Matt Waldron allowed three earned runs in his four-inning MLB Injury Rehab start. Waldron struck out six and walked three. Kevin Kopps and Raul Brito both pitched scoreless relief outings for El Paso. Right fielder Tirso Ornelas reached base four times Friday, going 3-for-3 with a double and a walk. Ornelas has multiple hits in all four games of the series.

The Chihuahuas scored once in the top of the second inning Friday and they’ve scored first in all four games in Sacramento. Padres infielder Mason McCoy went 1-for-4 with a single on MLB Injury Rehab Friday. Former Chihuahua Daniel Johnson homered for the second straight game Friday for Sacramento.
