Eugene stays hot as they take the series against the Hillsboro Hops.

Nick Swiney was handed the ball on the mound to start the game. In four innings, he allowed four hits, one run, walked one, and struck out four. Brett Standlee was awarded the win after allowing one hit and striking out three in two innings.

Hillsboro hopped on the board first after third baseman Deyvison De Los Santos hit his fourth home run of the season over the left-field wall. After the one run, the rest of the night belonged to the Emeralds.

In the bottom of the second inning, Jimmy Glowenke singled on a ground ball to center field, and Patrick Bailey scored.

A few innings later, Najee Gaskins hit a sacrifice fly, and Glowenke came home to make the score 2-1. Right after, Jairo Pomares singled on a ground ball to right field, and Simon Whiteman crossed the plate.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Glowenke hit a grand slam, his sixth home run of the season, over the left field wall to make the score 7-1.

In the next inning, Robert Emery hit his fourth double of the season on a fly ball to left field and brought another runner home. A few batters later, Whiteman singled on a ground ball to center field to score the Emeralds' ninth and final run of the night.

Eugene will go on the road and head to Spokane to start a six-game series against the Indians beginning August 2nd.
