SPOKANE, WA: Early in the game, it looked like the AquaSox would have its third straight come from behind victory but Grant Lavigne's two-run homer in the seventh inning put the finishing touches on Spokane's 8-2 win over the AquaSox in front of 2,817 fans at Avista Stadium.
After allowing an unearned run in the first inning, Everett responded by scoring two runs in the top of the second inning. Catcher Ty Duvall, who was called up from Modesto on June 24th, hit his first home run as a member of the AquaSox to tie the game up. After Cole Barr doubled, Myles Miller singled to right field to score Barr giving Everett a 2-1 lead. The RBI was Miller’s third of the series and sixth of the season.
After that it was all Spokane offensively. Spokane scored twice in the fifth inning and then tacked on five more in the seventh inning. Lavigne reached base three times in the game with a walk, double, and his fourth home run of the season.
Duvall would double in his next at bat and was the only AquaSox with multiple hits.
Spokane's starting pitcher Andrew Quezada improved to a perfect 5-0 on the season with six innings of two-run ball.
