As the city of Fayetteville, North Carolina enters 2019 it will also usher in a new era for the downtown historic district. The area will receive monumental investments in the form of a newly constructed professional ballpark and a 30-year agreement with the Houston Astros to host the team's Class A-Advanced Minor League team. This new ballpark is slated to further catalyze the region's growth following a solid decade of economic development.

Fayetteville's New Ballpark and Event Venue
Once the ballpark opens it will accommodate about 5,290 spectators for in-season baseball games, and possibly more during special events happening year-round. The stadium will feature real turf grass and the largest digital video board in the Big South Conference, measuring 75 feet in width. A variety of viewing options await Woodpeckers fans: regular seats, picnic style relaxation on the left outfield berm, and even a section of rocking chairs past the center outfield wall.
Enjoying a night out at the ball field is possible for the whole family. A dedicated Kids Zone keeps young ones busy while tiring them out and adults can relax with a drink in hand at the Bleacher Bar and RF Grill. Concessions are located conveniently throughout the concourse.
