Grasshoppers Drop to the Dash in First Game of Away Series, 7-5

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Greensboro Grasshoppers dropped the first game of its away series to the Winston-Salem Dash 7-5, on Tuesday, May 30. WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Greensboro Grasshoppers dropped the first game of its away series to the Winston-Salem Dash 7-5, on Tuesday, May 30. The Dash improved to 26-18 on the season while the Grasshoppers fell to 23-21. Winston-Salem outhit Greensboro 12-5 while the Grasshoppers had three mishaps to the Dash’s one.

Leading at the dish for the Grasshoppers was infielder Mike Jarvis going 2-3 with one RBI, two runs scored, and one free base. Hits were also tallied by Tsung-Che Cheng, Abrahan Gutierrez, and Will Matthiessen.

Starting on the rubber for Greensboro was righthanded pitcher Braxton Ashcraft as he tallied two strikeouts and gave up two hits and one earned run on one inning of work. Righthanded pitcher Po-Yu Chen relieved Ashcraft after his quick inning and recorded five strikeouts and gave up four hits and two earned runs on five innings of work.

Michell Miliano took the loss for the Grasshoppers and moved to 1-1 on the season. Chase Plymell recorded the win for the Dash and improved to 3-1 while Adisyn Coffey tallied his third save of the season for Winston-Salem.
