Gwinnett sees three-game winning streak snapped in 4-3 defeat

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After a one-hour, 15-minute rain delay and a three-hour, 41-minute game, the Gwinnett Stripers (18-16) saw their three-game winning streak snapped with a 4-3 loss to the Memphis Redbirds (13-21) on Friday night (and Saturday morning) at AutoZone Park. MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After a one-hour, 15-minute rain delay and a three-hour, 41-minute game, the Gwinnett Stripers (18-16) saw their three-game winning streak snapped with a 4-3 loss to the Memphis Redbirds (13-21) on Friday night (and Saturday morning) at AutoZone Park.

Decisive Play: Conner Capel snapped a 3-3 tie in the top of the eighth inning with a solo home run off Yoan Lopez (BS, 1, L, 1-1). Gwinnett led 3-1 midway through the seventh, but Memphis tied it on a pinch-hit two-run double from Juan Yepez.

Key Contributors: Orlando Arcia blasted a two-run homer (9), his first since May 25, to give the Stripers a 2-1 lead in the third. He added a double, finishing 2-for-5. Ryan Goins drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 3-1 in the fourth.

Noteworthy: Stripers reliever Dylan Lee doubled for his first professional hit in the third and scored on Arcia’s homer. With the loss, Gwinnett drops to 8-2 against Memphis this year.
