Chopper was born September 15, 2008 in Gwinnett County. He is a descendant of the famed groundhog General Beauregard Lee, Georgia’s foremost weather prognosticator. Chopper is a loyal and mischievous groundhog with a love for baseball, food, and Gwinnett. He is protective of his friends and family but always ready to have fun. He never backs down from a challenge and is always happy to lend a hand. Chopper can be found cheering on the Stripers at Gwinnett Stadium, making appearances around Georgia, making Tik Toks, and taking naps in the dugout. He loves messing with his friends, throwing down on the dance floor, taking pictures with fans, and eating popcorn. Chopper aspires to one day host his own food show.

Academy Reel It In Relay Mascots

Back by popular demand, Academy Sports + Outdoors are the presenting partner of the Reel It In Relay at Gwinnett Stadium. Racing around the infield and into your hearts are the trio of Bateman, Barb, and Bobster! Each Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday game (barring weather), these three fishing-themed mascots will make their way around their way around the field in an entertaining race to crown a winner. Pick your favorite each night and see if you have an eye for speed!
