Rademacher, activated from the disabled list today, skied the first pitch of the bottom of the ninth from Preston Guilmet over the left field fence, tying the game 4-4. Into extras, both teams scored one in the each of the 10th and 11th frames before Memphis took the lasting lead in the 12th. Iowa got the first lead of the game with single runs in both the first and the third. Mike Freeman led off with a single and scored later in the first on an RBI single by Chris Gimenez. Two frames later Freeman started the drive again with a single and this time, was knocked in on a Mark Zagunis sac fly.
Memphis retaliated with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth, scored on RBI singles by Adolis García and Wilfredo Tovar. The Redbirds doubled their score and captured their first lead with another two in the fifth. Oscar Mercado homered before Carson Kelly doubled in another run.
