TONIGHT'S GAMES: Iowa and New Orleans play two tonight at Shrine on Airline. Iowa sits at 11-13 on the season and looks to avoid dropping to three games under .500, a place the team hasn't been all year.

DON'T RAIN ON MY PARADE: Last night marked Iowa's third rain out in five days after back-to-back postponements at Principal Park Saturday and Sunday. Iowa will play its' first double-header of the season tonight. In 2016, the I-Cubs went 5-9 in twin bills.
NEW KID ON THE BLOCK:Chris Dominguez made a statement in his Iowa Cubs debut Tuesday, going 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI. He is one of three I-Cubs to have multiple hits in their debuts for the team this season. The others were Victor Caratini (2-4, 4/6) and Ozzie Martinez (2-4, 4/8).
AGE IS BUT A NUMBER: At 30 years and 162 days old, Chris Dominguez is the oldest player on Iowa's roster. Ian Happ is the youngest at 22 years and 264 days old. Iowa has a young roster with the average age sitting at 26. At this time last season, Iowa had five players over the age of 30 (Munenori Kawasaki, 34; Matt Murton, 34; Jean Machi, 34; Brandon Gomes, 31; Kristopher Negrón, 30), though the average age was still just 27 years old thanks to the youth of Willson Contreras (23), Daniel Vogelbach (23) and Albert Almora Jr. (22). Ten players on Iowa's current roster are 25 or younger.
RISE TO THE OCCASION: Stephen Bruno slugged a pinch-hit RBI double in the seventh inning Monday to bring in the eventual winning run. In pinch-hit opportunities this season, Bruno is 3-for-6 with two RBI. The rest of the team combined has gone 2-for-14 with four RBI.
GET IT STARTED:Seth Frankoff was in line for the win Tuesday after a dominating one-hit outing, but was left with a no-decision after Iowa's bullpen gave up the lead. The last starter to take a victory for Iowa was Eddie Butler on April 16 against Round Rock. The rotation is 5-9 on the season.
DIGGING FOR MORE:Jeimer Candelario paces the PCL with 12 doubles and is responsible for a good chunk of Iowa's 38 doubles as a team. Eighteen of Candelario's 25 hits have fallen for extra bases, accounting for 27 percent of Iowa's extra-base hits.
AGAINST NEW ORLEANS: This is the third meeting between New Orleans and Iowa through the first four weeks of the season. New Orleans holds a 73-61 edge in the all-time matchup at home, though Iowa is ahead 140-135 overall. Jeimer Candelario is 11-for-25 (.440) with eight extra-base hits and five RBI in the season matchup, while Taylor Davis is hitting .320 (8-for-25) with two home runs and 11 RBI.
HIT THE BRAKES: Following an eight-game hitting streak in which he hit .417 (10-for-24) with four home runs, four RBI and a .576 on-base percentage, Mark Zagunis has been shut down at the plate. The outfielder is hitless in his last three games and has struck out in nine of 11 at-bats.
LET'S GET IT STARTED: In the first inning, Iowa has scored 23 runs, but has also given up 19. Iowa is 6-5 on the season when scoring in the first and is 0-6 when allowing its opponent to score in the opening frame.
FINDING THEIR FOOTING:David Rollins, Pierce Johnson and Félix Peña combined to spin 3.0 shutout innings in relief Monday. That marked just the third time the bullpen has posted zeros in a game this season. 63 of opponent's 143 runs have been scored in the sixth inning or later. Despite this, Iowa is 10-2 when leading after five.
ROAD WARRIORS: Victor Caratini maintains an eight-game road hitting streak entering tonight. Caratini is 14-for-32 (.438) in road games since April 18 with five doubles and eight RBI.
GETTING STREAKY: Taylor Davis had his 38-game on-base streak snapped Tuesday with a pinch-hit strikeout in the ninth inning. Dating back to August 10, 2016, Davis was hitting .256 (32-for-125) with 15 runs, eight doubles, two home runs, 19 RBI, 24 walks and just 13 strikeouts. This was the longest on-base streak for an I-Cub since at least 2009. Davis also broke a 10-game hitting streak.
SHORT HOPS: David Rollins ranks first among PCL relievers with the lowest batting average allowed (.094)... Victor Caratini leads the I-Cubs with 10 multi-hit games...I-Cubs have recorded six five-RBI games this season - three from Jeimer Candelario and one each from Victor Caratini, Taylor Davis and Ian Happ.
