Iowa Cubs offer internships, part-time, game-day work

FUND-RAISING PROJECTS
The Iowa Cubs have opportunities for non-profit groups looking for work to earn money as fund-raising projects. Groups of 25 or more should contact Jeff Tilley at 515.243.6111. Smaller groups should contact Bob Thormeier at 515.244.3464.

HELP WANTED: STADIUM OPERATIONS
The Iowa Cubs are looking for qualified individuals to perform minor facility maintenance, janitorial and handyman work, and light housekeeping duties at Principal Park. Interested persons must fill out an application during office hours (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 to noon Saturday).

HELP WANTED: GAME-DAY STAFF
The Iowa Cubs are looking for qualified individuals to work during home games this season. Help is needed in these areas: Ushers, Ticket-takers, First Aid, Information Booth, Parking Lot Attendants, Bat Boys. Interested persons must fill out an application during office hours (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 to noon Saturday).

INTERNSHIPS
The Iowa Cubs have internships available in several departments for the 2006 season. Applicants should have a strong interest in gaining experience in the sports industry, be highly motivated and hard working, and have a willingness to learn and a willingness to work long hours and weekends. The start dates for these paid internships vary and run throughout the season.

Concessions - Duties include: Assist with all aspects of the food and beverage operation of Principal Park, including ordering, inventory, stocking, sales reports, monitoring sales percentages and per caps, and vendor relations ... assist with managing game-day employees. Retail store operations - This is a part-time seasonal position. Working hours will be during games when the team is at home, and some non-game days. Candidates must be available to work nights and weekends. Must be able to stand on their feet for long periods of time and able to lift up to 15 pounds of weight unassisted. Basic duties include: Greeting, assisting customers, and merchandising the Backstop ... ordering, organizing, and cleaning designated area. Cash register duties required.
