PAPILLION, NE – The Iowa Cubs (41-50) flipped the script on the Omaha Storm Chasers (46-45) on Saturday night at Werner Park, taking home a 10-0 shutout victory.
The game started as a pitchers’ duel, with both sides limiting their opponents to one hit through the first four innings. Omaha used three pitchers to get through the first four frames, and the group allowed just one hit, one walk, one hit batter and a runner on an error. Two of those runners were thrown out on the bases and the other two were stranded, leaving the I-Cubs scoreless through four.

Iowa finally got the scoring started in the fifth inning, and they made it count. They led off the frame with a walk before collecting five straight singles to put themselves up, 4-0. The Storm Chasers got two outs before

- Caleb Kilian tied his season high with eight strikeouts and earned his third win of the season for Iowa. It was his first victory since May 19.
- Jackson Frazier extended his hitting streak to a season-high 11 games, which is one game shy of his career high and three games shy of the I-Cubs’ season high.
- Narciso Crook is the fifth I-Cub to notch a two-home run game this season. He now has 13 this year and trails team leader, Jared Young, by one.
- Sean Newcomb earned his first save of the year with his four scoreless innings.
