LOCAL COLLEGE ATHLETES COMING TO PRINCIPAL PARK

Des Moines, IA (April 9, 2024) – The stars will be out at Principal Park on Saturday, June 29 when the Iowa Cubs and We Will Collective team up to bring fans an opportunity to meet local college athletes. Fans will have a chance to meet Tamin Lipsey (Men’s Basketball); Abu Sama, Jamison Patton and Caleb Bacon (Football); and Audi Crooks, Addy Brown and Arianna Jackson (Women’s Basketball) for autographs before and during the game. Each athlete will also be featured with a ceremonial first pitch.

“We are so excited to feature and support these local athletes and give fans a unique opportunity to connect with them at our game on June 29,” Iowa Cubs Assistant General Manager Randy Wehofer said. “By teaming up with the We Will Collective, we can celebrate the careers that started at local high schools for most of these athletes and support the college programs that our fans are also passionate about.”

Fans wanting to support the athletes and the We Will Collective can purchase tickets for the June 29 game through the dedicated link available at wewillcollective.com or on the We Will social channels. For every ticket purchased through that link, the We Will Collective will receive $6. In addition, the We Will Collective receives proceeds from sales of Ames Lager and Iowa State 1858 Vodka at the ballpark on June 29 and throughout the season. The We Will Collective will also receive all proceeds from a memorabilia auction taking place in the concourse during the game.

Game time on June 29 is 6:08 PM. Gates will open at 5:00 PM. In addition to meeting the athletes, families can check out the interactive dinosaur displays as part of our Jurassic Ballpark exhibit that weekend. Fans will also be allowed to play catch on the field from 5:00-5:15 when the gates open.
