Tonight's Game: Tonight is the first of five games between the I-Cubs and the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Iowa will send right-handed pitching prospect Jen-Ho Tseng (2-4, 6.70) to face right-hander Freddy Peralta (6-1, 3.18). This is the first meeting of the two teams this season. Iowa is coming off a 4-1 series win over New Orleans as Principal Park. The I-Cubs are 7-3 through their last 10 games.
Solid Outings From Tseng: Tonight's starting pitcher, Jen-Ho Tseng, struggled mightily in the beginning of the season. However, The two-time Cubs Minor League Pitcher of the Year has been better in his last starts. Tseng's best start came against the Omaha Storm Chasers on May 20 throwing seven innings and giving up two runs while fanning nine.
Promising Prospects: Two Cubs pitching prospects had outstanding appearances yesterday against the Baby Cakes. The Cubs No. 1 overall prospect Adbert Alzolay pitched a perfect four innings of baseball retiring the first 12 batters and No. 12 prospect Dillon Maples pitched a perfect scoreless inning in relief. Prior to yesterday's game, Alzolay had seen his ERA increase from 2.91 to 5.30 in his last three starts and Maples had given up six earned runs in his last five appearances.
Mr. Durable: Taylor Davis has played in 54 straight innings for the Iowa Cubs. Davis has caught the last five out of six games, and played first base the game he did not catch. During the 54 straight innings Davis has played in, he is batting .435 (10-for-23), has six RBI and has thrown out two of three guys on the base paths.
Weekend Walks: I-Cubs pitchers did not walk a Baby Cakes batter yesterday. This was the first game the I-Cubs hadn't walked anyone since August 27 of last season.
Against Colorado Springs: The I-Cubs own an all-time 113-96 record against Colorado Springs. Even though Iowa has a healthy lead in the series, they're just 50-56 playing in Colorado Springs. In just six games played against Colorado Springs last season, Victor Caratini smoked the Sky Sox going 9-for-21 (.429) tallying three runs and two RBI. Chesny Young did not have the same success batting .100 (4-for-40) in 13 games last season.

Roster Rotation: After being DFA'd on May 26, Efren Navarro will be back with the team. Navarro has arguably been the best hitter for the I-Cubs batting .298/.376/.437 with a team-leading 27 RBI. Justin Hancock is back with the I-Cubs after spending three weeks in Chicago. Hancock has been great at both the Triple-A and Major League level this season, posting a combined 24.1 IP and giving up eight earned runs for a 2.99 ERA. Cory Mazzoni was called up to Chicago today after Carl Edwards Jr. was placed on the disabled list.
