Suns set inaugural Legends of Jacksonville Baseball class

Suns will induct nine people into first class on April 3 at 6 p.m.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The 2014 season opener on April 3 will have an extra meaning as the Jacksonville Suns will unveil its inaugural Legends of Jacksonville Baseball class in a special ceremony to the public at 6 p.m.

The inaugural Class of legends features Major League Hall of Famers Nolan Ryan, Hoyt Wilhelm, Henry Aaron, Tom Seaver and Phil Niekro along with managers Dominic Mullaney and Ben Geraghty and owners Peter Bragan Sr. & Sam Wolfson. Fan can see the unveiling in the mezzanine at the Baseball Grounds.

The first 3,000 fans will get a special Legends of Jacksonville Baseball Card Set and the first 2,000 fans will get a Legends Baseball Card Binder.

Join us as we celebrate some of the most storied contributors to baseball here in the river city and honor them so that their legacy will be forever remembered as a part of Jacksonville.

Gates is slated to open at 5 pm., while first pitch for Suns opener against the Huntsville Stars is at 7:05 pm.

Tickets are $7.50 for general admission, $10.50 for reserved seating and $13.50 for Homeplate Box seating. Limited sponsorships, season tickets and group packages are still available.

The 2014 season is presented by Everbank, official banking partner of the Jacksonville Suns. The Suns are the Double-A Affiliate of the Miami Marlins and a member of the Southern League of Professional Baseball.
