JACKSON, Tenn.  - The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (1-4) fell to the Jackson Generals (4-1) by a 3-2 score in 10 innings in the fifth and final game of the five-game series at The Ballpark at Jackson on Monday afternoon.

Jackson's Ben DeLuzio hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the tenth inning to give the Generals their second straight walk-off win over Jacksonville.
Jumbo Shrimp right-handed relief pitcher Kolton Mahoney (0-2) took the loss, allowing the unearned run in the bottom of the tenth. Jackson right-handed relief pitcher Michael Dimock (1-0) earned the win by tossing a scoreless top of the tenth.
The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth when an RBI double by Austin Dean gave Jacksonville a 1-0 lead. The Generals responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth off Jacksonville right-handed starting pitcher Max Duval, with an RBI double by Jay Gonzalez putting Jackson ahead 2-1. The Jumbo Shrimp tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the sixth inning, with Dean's RBI groundout to second scoring John Norwood from third base.
The game remained tied at two through nine innings of play, and became the first Southern League game ever played with Minor League Baseball's new extra innings rule for 2018, where there is automatically a runner at second base to start each half inning. The Jumbo Shrimp were unable to score in the top of the tenth, stranding pinch-runner Jorgan Cavanerio at second base.
The Generals executed a successful sacrifice bunt by Jose Vinicio to move runner Jay Gonzalez to third base. With one out, Jacksonville intentionally walked back-to-back hitters to loaded the bases. With the infield in, DeLuzio's line drive went just over the outstretched glove of Shrimp second baseman Mason Davis and into right field to score Gonzalez to win the game 3-2.
Five of Jacksonville's eight hits in the game were doubles, including a two-double performance by John Norwood at the plate.
The Jumbo Shrimp will bus home through the night to Jacksonville and have Tuesday off before beginning the home schedule with Opening Day presented by Firehouse Subs on Wednesday night at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville, as the Jumbo Shrimp start a five-game homestand against the Mobile BayBears. Right-handed pitcher Cody Poteet (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will start for Jacksonville against Mobile right-handed pitcher Jesus Castillo. Fans can listen to the game on the Jumbo Shrimp Network presented by Community First, beginning at 6:50 p.m. eastern with the pregame show "Shrimp On Deck" locally on Sunny 102.3 FM, on the TuneIn Radio app, and www.jaxshrimp.com.
