JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Patrick Monteverde and the bullpen threw nine scoreless innings helping the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp secure a 2-0 victory over the Gwinnett Stripers Saturday night at VyStar Ballpark in front of 10,768 fans.
Jacksonville (71-71, 29-38) jumped on top in the first in the first on a solo bomb from Jonathan Long (16) off Gwinnett (74-69, 36-33) starter Cedric De Grandpre (L, 1-3).
The Jumbo Shrimp tacked on another run in the sixth on a Matthew Etzel (19) long ball.
Jacksonville’s bullpen spun a fantastic game. Amos Willingham, Holt Jones, and Zach Pop (S, 5) combined for three scoreless innings with one strikeout and one hit allowed.
Jacksonville concludes their 2026 season with a six-game set against the Scranton/Wilks-Barre RailRiders in Pennsylvania. The series will begin with Tuesday’s 7:05 p.m. contest. Coverage begins at 6:50 p.m. on ESPN 690, and espn690.com.
