JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A season-high 16-hit performance in which every player in the batting order recorded a hit gave the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp just enough in a 10-8 seesaw win over the Nashville Sounds Thursday night at VyStar Ballpark.

The Jumbo Shrimp (65-62, 23-30) rallied for three in the bottom of the seventh off Nashville (69-59, 26-27) reliever Carlos Rodriguez (L, 0-6) to take the lead for good. Jared Serna led off with a double and came around on Cam Cannarella’s third double of the night two batters later to break the tie. Following a Brayden Taylor walk, Cannarella scored on a Graham Pauley single. Taylor trotted in on a base hit from Kemp Alderman to stake a 10-7 advantage.

The Sounds’ comeback effort fell short in the ninth. Akil Baddoo doubled to begin the inning, moved to third on a fielder’s choice groundball and scored on an Ethan Murray sacrifice fly to set the final margin at 10-8. Stephen Jones (SV, 6) locked down the victory by inducing a groundout from Ramón Rodríguez.

Nashville earned an early lead when Blake Burke (2) launched a two-out solo home run in the top of the first inning.

Jacksonville tied the game in the fourth when Cannarella doubled with one out and scored on a groundball to third from Deyvison De Los Santos. An airmailed toss to first base allowed Cannarella to motor in from third to knot the score at one. Cannarella’s on-base streak now sits at 26 games, tied for the sixth-longest streak in recorded Jacksonville baseball history, which dates back to 2005.

The Jumbo Shrimp batted around in the fifth and plated four runs to take their first lead of the night. A Matthew Etzel double and Logan Driscoll single set the table for Brendan Jones’ (1) first Triple-A home run. Cannarella kept the momentum going with his second double of the night, and he scored on a Taylor triple. De Los Santos singled one batter later to plate Taylor, which put Jacksonville up 6-1.

The lead would not last for long, though, as the Sounds crescendoed for five runs in the away sixth to even the ledger once again at 6-6. Walks to Brandon Lockridge and Burke, along with a Brock Wilken single loaded the bases for Baddoo, who provided a two-run single to right. Jeferson Quero (13) smashed a game-tying three-run homer to the batter’s eye beyond center field one batter later.

Jacksonville rallied to snatch the lead back in the bottom of the sixth. A trio of walks to Cannarella, De Los Santos, and Pauley set up an RBI single from Alderman to vault the Jumbo Shrimp ahead, 7-6.

Nashville would not be denied in the seventh, however. Baddoo singled with one out and advanced to third on two successive walks. He scored on a Murray fielder’s choice groundball to tie the game at seven.

The series continues Friday at 12:05 p.m. with Jacksonville right-hander Bradley Blalock (3-9, 5.49) scheduled to start opposite Nashville right-hander Brandon Sproat (0-1, 4.50). Coverage begins at 11:50 a.m. on Bally Live, MLB.tv, MiLB.tv, ESPN 690 and espn690.com.
