MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (8-5, 38-45) fell to the Montgomery Biscuits (6-7, 43-40) by a 5-3 score in the second game of the five-game series at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium on Wednesday night.

Montgomery right-handed starter José Mujica (8-5) earned the win, working six and a third innings where he allowed two runs on four hits with two walks and a strikeout. Jacksonville left-handed starter Mike Kickham (5-5) took the loss, allowing four runs on eight hits with a walk and four strikeouts. Biscuits reliever Kyle Winker allowed a run in the ninth but got the final three outs of the game to earn his eighth save of the season.
The Biscuits scored two runs on five hits in the first inning against Kickham, with RBI singles by Joe McCarthy and Justin Williams putting Montgomery up 2-0. Jacksonville answered in the top of the fourth on a solo homer to right field by John Norwood to cut the lead to 2-1 Biscuits.
Montgomery grew its lead in the bottom of the fifth with Dalton Kelly delivering a two-run double to put the score at 4-1. Jacksonville made it a two-run game in the top of the seventh when Cam Maron supplied an RBI double to cut the deficit to 4-2. Jacksonville would load the bases with one out in that inning, only to see Chris Diaz ground into a double play to end the inning.
The Biscuits added a run in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single by Justin Williams to put the score at 5-2. It was 5-2 with two outs in the ninth, and Yefri Pérez down to his final strike when a wild pitch by Winkler scored David Vidal from third base to put the score at 5-3. That would be the final, as Perez flew out to left field to end the game.
The Jumbo Shrimp and Biscuits will continue their series with the third game of the five-game set on Thursday night at 8:05 p.m. at Riverwalk Stadium. Right-handed pitcher Chris Mazza (1-4, 2.71 ERA) will start for the Jumbo Shrimp against Biscuits right-handed pitcher Greg Harris (3-7, 5.12 ERA).
