Rain postpones Suns and Blue Wahoos on Thursday

Doubleheader set for 5:05 p.m. Friday; Thursday tickets may be exchanged for another Suns home game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Rain postponed Thursday's game between the Jacksonville Suns and Pensacola Blue Wahoos at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The game is scheduled to be made up as part of a doubleheader of seven-inning games beginning at 5:05 p.m. Friday, with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. Regular individual tickets for Thursday's game may be exchanged at the ballpark box office for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining regular season home game.

Fans holding tickets for Friday, May 20, are welcome to attend both games of Friday's doubleheader.

Thursday marked the second postponement of the season for both Jacksonville (17-22) and Pensacola (24-16). Friday will be the second doubleheader of the season for each team. The Suns are scheduled to start right-hander Jake Esch (4-4) in Game 1 and right-hander Chris Mazza (1-0) in Game 2. The Blue Wahoos are scheduled to start right-hander Sal Romano (1-2) in Game 1 and right-hander Jackson Stephens (2-3) in Game 2.

The Suns' first postponement of the season came Tuesday against Montgomery. That game will be made up with a doubleheader between the clubs at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville on Wednesday, June 1, at 6:05 p.m.

UP NEXT: The Suns open their series with Pensacola in a doubleheader of seven-inning games at 5:05 p.m. Friday. Gates open at 4:30 p.m., and following the doubleheader will be NAPA Family Fireworks presented by NAPA Auto Care Center. The Suns are wearing red jerseys for another Red Shirt Friday. Fans are encouraged to wear red to support military personnel and save $1 per ticket at the box office, or donate the $1 to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. The game is also presented by Gator Country 99.9 WGNE.
