MOBILE, Ala. - The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (15-23) defeated the Mobile BayBears (15-23) by a 4-2 score in the third game of the five-game series at Hank Aaron Stadium on Monday night.

With the game tied at two and two outs in the ninth inning, Alex Glenn crushed a two-run homer over the right field wall to put Jacksonville ahead 4-2, which would be the final score. The homer is Glenn's second of the season, and both of his blasts have been against his former club, the BayBears.
Jacksonville reliever Tyler Higgins (1-3) earned his first win of the year, while BayBears reliever Cody Buckel (1-2) allowed the Glenn homer to take the loss. Greg Nappo worked a scoreless ninth to earn his first save for Jacksonville.
The Jumbo Shrimp had the game's first advantage with a David Vidal RBI single in the top of the third inning to go in front 1-0. Then in the bottom of the fourth inning, Mobile's Wade Wass hit a solo homer off Jacksonville starter Mike Kickham to even the score at 1-1. Kickham worked five innings for Jacksonville, allowing just a run on three hits with two walks and five strikeouts.
The Jumbo Shrimp quickly went back ahead in the top of the fifth. After a Jeremias Pineda double put two men in scoring position, Alex Yarbrough delivered a sacrifice fly that scored Austin Nola to put the Shrimp on top 2-1. The lead endured until Mobile's Michael Hermosillo hit a solo homer with two outs in the bottom of the eighth off Higgins to tie the game at two.
Buckel began the ninth inning by walking John Norwood. Then Cal Towey hit into a double play to quickly get two outs for the BayBears. Taylor Ard drew a four-pitch walk from Buckel just before Glenn's towering homer to right gave Jacksonville a 4-2 lead, which would be the final.
The game also featured right-handed pitcher Joe Gunkel working a perfect bottom of the sixth inning for Jacksonville, in his first relief appearance since returning to the active Jumbo Shrimp roster after he was designated for assignment by the Marlins last week.
The Jumbo Shrimp and BayBears will continue their series with the fourth game of the five-game set on Tuesday at Hank Aaron Stadium at 7:35 p.m. ET. Right-handed pitcher Chris Mazza (0-2, 3.82 ERA) will start for Jacksonville against Mobile right-hander Osmer Morales (1-0, 2.82 ERA).
