O'Berry named Southern League Woman of Excellence

O'Berry is third Suns employee honored in last seven seasons

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.  - Jacksonville Suns Senior Director of Business Administration Barbara O'Berry has been named the Southern League "Woman of Excellence" for the 2013 season, as voted by the league's general managers, announced by the league office.

O'Berry is the Southern League's nominee for the Rawlings Woman Executive of the Year Award, which will be presented by Minor League Baseball at the 2013 Winter Meetings in Orlando, Fla., from Dec. 9-12.

O'Berry is the third woman in the Suns organization to receive this recognition, joining Karlie Evatt (2007) and January Putt (2012).

O'Berry joined the Suns on April 1, 2002, and she is the only front office member to come from the Suns previous stadium, Wolfson Park.

She is a native of Jacksonville and is married to Ernest O'Berry, and their family includes two sons and three grandchildren.

O'Berry is responsible for all financial accounting for the team, as well as all administrative duties for the club.
