Series Lead At Stake In Early Morning Contest Wednesday

11:15 a.m ET Start For Game Three Between Suns and Lookouts
April 16, 2014

The Suns will play only their third day game of the season in on Wednesday in Chattanooga. It is also easily their earliest start time to date. Game three of the club's second road series of the year is scheduled to get underway with the Lookouts in the morning hours. The first pitch is slated for 11:15 a.m. ET.

At least the morning sun will be a part of the equation, with temperatures again expected to be very chilly in central Tennessee. The weather did little to cool the visiting bats on Tuesday. The Suns offense instead seemed to finally heat up as the temperatures dropped last night.

Jacksonville bounced back nicely from Monday's loss in the opener, thanks to a one-hit performance by the pitching staff, including six strong innings from left-handed starter Andrew Heaney (2-0, 1.56). The result was a 4-0 shutout victory. Suns hitters were also far more dominant than the score would indicate, pounding out 12 hits in the contest.

With the series tied 1-1, the Suns will attempt to seize control by accomplishing a feat which has been difficult in recent history. Jacksonville will head into the morning tilt seeking to claim back to back victories over Chattanooga in the Lookouts home ballpark.

The clubs played two five game series at each team's home yard a year ago, nearly splitting the contests right down the middle. Chattanooga held a slim 10-9 advantage in nineteen games played (a twentieth game was on the schedule, but was ultimately cancelled due to weather). Both teams fared well at home, with the Lookouts winning seven of the nine games played at AT&T park.

You can listen to today's game live on the Suns Baseball Network, with the "Voice of the Suns" Roger Hoover providing play by play. Hoover is now in his third season as Jacksonville's Director of Broadcasting. He is assisted by Michael West and Jason Patterson. West and Patterson will host the Memorial Hospital Suns Pregame Show beginning at 11:00 a.m. ET on the Suns Baseball Network.
