Suns Game With Barons Suspended

Teams will resume Monday as part of doubleheader
June 9, 2013

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Sunday's game between the Jacksonville Suns (31-28) and Birmingham Barons (39-23) was suspended due to rain in the Birmingham area and will resume on Monday as part of a doubleheader.

The Suns lead the Barons 3-1 entering the bottom half of the second thanks to a solo home run and a two-run single from Jake Marisnick, who drove in all three Suns runs on Sunday. The Barons scored their lone run in the bottom of the first on an RBI double by Andy Wilkins.

The game will resume in the bottom of the second inning beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET, with game two following 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first contest. The second game of the day will last seven innings, while the first will play out the regularly scheduled nine innings.

The pitchers for both contests have not yet been determined.

Suns fans can listen to Monday's games on the Suns Baseball Network, 94.1 WSOS-FM or through jaxsuns.com, MiLB.com or the Suns iPhone or Android app, beginning at 12:15 p.m. E.T. with the UF and Shands Suns Pre-Game Show.
