Giving up 12 hits and committing four errors, Kannapolis dropped their third straight to the GreenJackets Friday night, 11-2, at SRP Park in Augusta, Georgia.
The GreenJackets jumped all over Yosmer Solorzano (L, 3-9) in the first inning, scoring three runs on three hits, giving Norwith Gudino (W, 2-2) a comfortable 3-0 lead.
After scoring their fourth run in the third inning, the GreenJackets wasted no time putting up another three-spot in the fourth inning, capitalizing on two Kannapolis errors and a triple, giving the home team a 7-0 edge heading into the fifth.
The Intimidators failed to have a runner reach base in the fifth and sixth inning, as Augusta played small ball in the latter half of the sixth to increase their lead to eight, 8-0.
In the seventh, Kannapolis used a Johan Cruz double and a Justin Yurchak walk knock Gudino out of the ball game, as Ramon Beltre singled on a line drive up the middle off Keenan Bartlett to put the Intimidators on the board, but still down 8-2.
One inning later, the GreenJackets scored another three runs on three hits and a sacrifice fly to blow the game wide open, now up 11-2.
Kannapolis will take on the GreenJackets Saturday at SRP Park, looking to capture their first win of the five-game series.
