Colton Eastman made his AAA debut

(Syracuse, NY) – The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (48-59) went back and forth with the Worcester Red Sox (61-47) on Tuesday night, but it would be the WooSox that would prevail as they won 5-4. Chad De La Guerra hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning against Seranthony Dominguez (0-1) that gave Worcester the lead.

Colton Eastman battled in his AAA debut as he allowed three runs over 4 1/3 innings pitched. The WooSox tagged him for two runs in the bottom of the third inning when Tate Matheny and Connor Wong each hit RBI singles. The Pigs answered back with a run in the top of the fourth inning when C.J. Chatham scored on a fielding error by De La Guerra.

The Pigs took a 3-2 lead in the top of the fifth inning when Nick Maton hit at two-run home run against Daniel Gossett. It was his fourth home run of the season. Worcester tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning when De La Guerra scored on a groundout by Joey Meneses.

Matt Joyce hit a go-ahead RBI double in the top of the sixth inning against Colten Brewer (1-1) to give Lehigh Valley a 4-3 lead. Austin Brice would earn his first save of the season by pitching a scoreless top of the ninth inning.

The IronPigs and WooSox play at 6:35 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Polar Park.
